About Us
Caring for our planet’s cycles and natural resources is one of humankind’s most essential challenges and responsibilities. School is a natural and necessary platform for educating younger generations on their role in ensuring a better future for our planet. The term “planet” derives from the ancient Greek planētēs and means “wanderer”. Planets are “wandering stars,” but in today’s ever-globalised and interconnected world, we have all become wanderers. Our connection to the rest of the world and one another is stronger than ever before, and should be cared for on every level.

Our Mission
OURPLANET International School Muscat aims to foster a multicultural and inquiry-led learning environment in English and Arabic that promotes sustainability and celebrates Oman’s unique cultural identity.

Our Vision
OURPLANET International School Muscat believes in creating lifelong learners that will build a better and more sustainable Oman and wider world.

School Concept

OurPlanet International School opened its doors in September 2013 and has since then grown to offer an early years and primary years programme for ages 3-10.

We are a recognised and accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) school for the Primary Years Programme (PYP). We are proud to offer a high-quality, international education enriched by our dedication to sustainability. As our school continues to grow we intend to add the other IB programmes, namely the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). These programmes are globally renowned for their rigour and academic quality. The highly-regarded  DP offers access to the best universities in the world. Along with the proposed IB programmes, we also intend to offer Omani certificates and standardised tests for students preparing to remain in Oman for further study.

While our main language of instruction is English, we place a great emphasis on Arabic language and culture as well as mother-tongue language development and additional foreign languages. OurPlanet Muscat is a multilingual, international school with strong roots in the local Omani culture.
